Weight and daycare: more activity does not fix excess food
A dog with excess weight may tire and overheat sooner. Adding hours of play without adjusting the rest of the plan can end in pain or avoidance.
WSAVA provides a visual body condition scale using the ribs, waist, and abdomen. The number on a scale does not tell the whole story. Two dogs at the same weight may have very different sizes and proportions, while an older dog may lose muscle without a large weight change.
