A dog's first boarding night: prepare the week, not the goodbye
Exhausting a dog before drop-off is not preparation. A short trial, an honest care sheet, and familiar food usually contribute much more.

Preparation for a first stay begins a week ahead, not in the boarding facility's parking lot. Open the health record, confirm requirements, and observe the dog. A cough, diarrhea, vomiting, fleas, pain, or recent surgery belongs in a conversation with the veterinarian and facility before the family insists on keeping the booking.
