Dog boarding in Mexico: how to choose a safe stay before vacation
Choosing where to leave a dog should not depend only on price or proximity. A serious boarding service asks, documents, separates profiles, and communicates during the stay.

A responsible service should request basic information: records, vaccines, parasite prevention, age, size, sociability, diet, medication, allergies, escape behaviors, and emergency contacts. If nobody asks, care is harder to adapt.
Families should ask questions too. How are dogs separated by size or temperament? How much supervision is there? What happens if a dog does not eat? Is there a veterinary protocol? How are areas cleaned? Are updates sent? What does the price include?
Intake improves when the dog arrives with regular food, written instructions, records, secure leash, and a familiar item if allowed. Avoid changing food, medication, or routine right when leaving the dog.

Inspect gates, double-door entries, ventilation, shade, isolation areas, and the form that will hold your instructions.
Before paying, document the price, dates, included services, health requirements, pickup hours, cancellation policy, and authorization for veterinary care with a spending limit. Name a contact who can make decisions if you cannot be reached. A responsible boarder performs a pre-assessment and may decline or adapt care when health, behavior, or stress makes a stay unsafe.
